GPA Calculator
Add your courses, letter grades and credit hours to compute your semester GPA on the standard US 4.0 scale. Results update live as you edit — no button needed.
Each letter grade converts to grade points on the 4.0 scale: A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, and so on down to F = 0.0. Plus and minus grades adjust by a third of a point, which is the convention at most US colleges.
Courses with more credit hours weigh more heavily. Multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add everything together, and divide by total credits. A 4-credit B affects your GPA twice as much as a 2-credit B. Note that some schools cap A+ at 4.0 while others use 4.3 — check your registrar’s policy.
