Hours Calculator
How long was that shift? Enter a start time, end time and any unpaid break to get the duration in hours and minutes, decimal hours for payroll, and optional earnings at your hourly rate.
Times are converted to minutes after midnight and subtracted. If the end time is earlier than the start time, the calculator assumes an overnight shift and rolls the end into the next day — handy for night workers.
Payroll systems use decimal hours, not minutes: 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75 hours because 45 ÷ 60 = 0.75. Enter an hourly rate and the tool multiplies decimal hours by your wage for a quick gross-pay estimate before taxes and overtime rules.
